Does Hancock have a golf course? Well ... no.
But just travel north, south, east or west from Hancock, and you
will find that our town is centrally located near some of the finest
golf courses in the region. It's the perfect spot for building a
golfing getaway package of your own.
Here's where to play:
Cacapon
State Park, West Virginia, just 17 miles
to the south of Hancock. A wonderful and classic Robert Trent
Jones designed course.
The Woods Golf Resort, West Virginia. Only 18
miles from Hancock to the south on WVa State Route 9, between Berkeley Springs and Martinsburg, you'll find 36 holes of
championship golf at their Mountain View and Stony Lick courses
.
Just 25 miles to the east, you'll
find the newly opened Whitetail Golf Resort, Exit 18 I-70, Clearspring, Md Exit.
And if you head due north for 26 miles,
you'll find our friends at the Great Cove Golf Course just outside
of McConnellsburg, PA.
Just 31
miles due west on I-68 from Hancock there is Maryland's only Jack
Nicklaus Signature Golf Course called The Gap at Rocky Gap State
Park. The Gap is proud to be one of the few golf courses in Maryland
featuring ProLink GPS (Global Positioning System) technology.
Mounted on every cart, ProLink produces faster rounds, lower scores
and all around enjoyment. It's like having your own personal caddy.
A little further east, about 35 miles
from Hancock, you can play at the Black Rock Golf Course just
outside of Hagerstown.
Just stay in Hancock, and build a golfing dream vacation.
